Welcome to TFB Podcast Roundup 9. This week I’ve gone back into a couple of older episodes from some of my favorite podcasts like the Vortex Nation Podcast and the Life Liberty and the Pursuit Podcast put on by the folks over at IV8888. This time of year is an exciting time for a lot of people within the gun industry as this is right around the time when many companies will start finally unveiling their new or improved products that they’ve been saving up for the NRA Annual Meeting and other expos. Sadly NRAAM was canceled at the last minute this year but that doesn’t mean the releases stop. Just last week alone two new rimfire pistols and one rifle showed up on the market and in particular, I think Diamondback’s 22LR revolver is something to be closely looked at for any rimfire enthusiast.
More Podcast Content @ TFB:
In other news, we’ve got a small announcement from this last week. We recently tested out a new podcast format here at TFB called the TFB B-Side Podcast. This podcast is a bit more relaxed and we focus a bit less on one particular topic and use it more of an open discussion for either a broader topic or several small topics at once. If you haven’t checked it out then you can find it over on our Spotify account, last week’s episode featured TFBTV presenter Hop and myself discussing a logical and practical progression for purchasing tactical gear when it comes to being a prepared citizen. Other than that, I hope you’ll enjoy this week’s other picks in TFB Podcast Roundup 9. Enjoy!
TFB Podcast Roundup 9: 17 WSM, Caliber Debates, and TFB B-Side Podcast
Length: 29 Minutes
Subjects: Night vision, armor, plate carriers, pistols, rifles, and preparedness
Length: 12 Minutes
Subjects: All about the 17 Winchester Super Magnum
We forgot a tiny cartridge in our “Tiny Calibers” Podcast – and you guys let us know about it. Thanks!…Jim and Mark wrangle the cartridge oracle himself, Ryan Muckenhirn, to find out all about the .17 WSM. Mark was disappointed WSM stands for Winchester Super Magnum – not Short Magnum. Other than that, there’s a heck of a lot to like about this little powerhouse.
Length: 60 Minutes
Subjects: Eric and Matt get into a caliber debate
Eric and Matt have been doing a really good job on their new podcast and it has been one of my favorites to listen to throughout my workdays. This one predictably features a lot of arguments, counter-arguments, and anecdotal evidence about the efficacy of certain calibers, and suffice it to say it’s very entertaining. If you’re curious if your favorite caliber made it into this episode of the LLP podcast, then you should check it out.
Length: 61 Minutes
Subjects: Frequently asked questions about night vision
While we here at TFB are fortunate to have our very own night vision expert – Nick C, I always like to glean experience and knowledge about any subject from multiple experts if possible. Chip Lanskey and Colion Noir go through a lot of information on this one that I think would have been very helpful when I was first getting into night vision devices. Even if you’re experienced with night vision, this specific episode of the Colion Noir podcast is entertaining and an easy listen while you’re cleaning your guns.
Gun Talk Radio – Gunfighting Fundamentals; Storing Guns For A Friend in Crisis; Hurricane Preparation And Guns
Length: 44 Minutes
Subjects: Gun storage and preparing for emergencies with guns
With the current Hurricane Ida disaster still ongoing, the guys at Gun Talk Radio thought it prudent to cover this specific topic that doesn’t come up much. If Katrina was any indication, civil unrest almost always follows a natural disaster and unless you want to have a laundry list of stolen guns reported on your insurance claim, then you’ll want to take a listen to this 45-minute podcast where Tiger McKee from Shootrite Firearms Academy also takes time to discuss the importance of applying shooting fundamentals to gunfighting.
Thanks for reading and listening here at TFB. If you’ve come across any great podcasts recently and feel like others would enjoy them, go ahead and leave them down below. See you next time!
